Course objectives
At the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Know whether they are naturally assertive, aggressive or non-assertive
- Distinguish these behaviours in others
- Improve their awareness of the importance of non-verbal behaviour in aiding assertiveness
- Learn and practise the techniques of assertiveness
Methods
Presentation, discussion in small and large groups, self questionnaire and practical situations.
Important notes
It would be useful if participants would bring along a couple of scenarios they find difficult to deal with, and that they are prepared to share with others.
