Dictation Techniques

Target Audience

All those who wish to improve their audio dictation skills, (digital or analogue) and more particularly those who are new to the skill.

Course Objectives

Plan efficiently for dictation
Give clear instructions that are understood by all who transcribe their dictations
Practise techniques for dictating and for correcting errors

Methods

Presentation, syndicate work, dictation exercises.

Important notes

Three or four secretaries will be required for about 30 minutes during this course, to transcribe the short dictations, and also to give written feedback.  This course is often run in conjunction with Working with Support Staff as part of the trainee/graduate induction.
